Dark Brown Exterior House Painting in Black Butte Ranch, Oregon
Have you ever wondered how your house would look in a darker color?
This Black Butte Ranch home is a great example. It’s a single-story house with board-and-batten siding, a two-car garage, and a covered entry with stone columns. It started out a light tan, and now it’s a rich dark brown. We love how this one turned out!
Why Dark Brown Works on This House
This house is surrounded by tall trees, and the dark brown fits right in with them. Instead of standing out from the woods around it, the house blends in.
The best part is that the details didn’t get lost. The siding lines still show, and the stone columns at the front entry really stand out against the darker color.
Thinking About Going Darker?
If you’re thinking about a dark color for your house, here’s our favorite tip: try it on your house before you decide.
A little paint chip looks different than a whole wall. So put a sample on a sunny spot and a shady spot. Then go look at it in the morning, at midday, and in the evening. Your trees, your roof, and your light all change how a color looks.
One more thing to know: darker colors soak up more sun and heat than lighter ones. That’s why the paint you choose matters, so ask your painter which products hold up well in darker colors.
Light colors look great too, of course. Dark brown is just another awesome option to think about.
