This Prineville Home Went From Red to Blue and It's a Completely Different House Now

Drive by this ranch-style home in Prineville today and you'd never guess it used to be red. Deep, sun-baked red, the kind that's been holding up against Central Oregon summers for years and finally just looked tired. Now it's a soft coastal blue with crisp white trim, and it doesn't just look newer. It looks like a different house.

The Blue Changes Everything

We repainted the body a light, coastal-leaning blue and kept the trim bright white. Simple two-tone combo, but on a house this size, the contrast does all the heavy lifting. The window lines pop, the porch reads bigger, and the whole property feels lighter and more current, without looking out of place on the street.

The Unglamorous Part That Makes It Last

Nobody posts photos of pressure washing, but it's half the job. Before any finish coat went on, this house got a full wash, scraping and sanding on any failing paint, caulking around the trim and windows, and primer on bare wood. Skip that stuff and a repaint looks great for a season and then falls apart fast in our high-desert climate. Do it right and it holds up.
